Term 1
 
In Term 1 my highlight was reading.  I enjoyed reading difficult stories and it made it more of a challenge for me.  I read about Stonehenge and the pyramids and I found that really fun.  Next year I want to get all the words right when I read a story so I can understand the information really well.                                                                                                                     By Sam Gold
 
We played lots of sports.  We played games aswell including sharks, rob the nest, cat and mouse and midnight.  I liked Run, Jump, Throw.  We did lots of different sports including shot put, discus, long jump, high jump and a ping pong spoon race.  My highlight for Sport in Term 1 was the high jump because I liked jumping onto the big bouncy mat.                       By Tamsin Brown
 
We did lots of Maths.  We were focusing on 2d and 3d shapes.  We had all the shapes on the wall.  It was quite fun learning about it.  I liked 2d shapes the best.  In writing we did personal experiences like my scariest moment, my favourite moment and my best friends.  My highlight was my favourite moment because it was fun to write about.                  By Neve Sissons
 
We did lots of Inquiry.  The police came and taught us how to keep ourselves safe.   They sang us a song and showed us photos about cars and how to keep safe around them.  My highlight was when the police came. I liked the 'stop, look and listen' song they showed us.  I learnt about what to watch out for when cars are backing out so that I am safe.     By Laura-Lee Lealamisa
 
In term 1 we did lots of Art.  The first thing we did was shade a picture of ourselves with jovis.  We used yellow and a dark colour.  I chose blue.  We did blue where there was a dark spot and yellow where there was a light spot on our faces.  Then we did our practise portrait for the visual mihimihi. This time we did it with paint.  After that we did the real thing.  It was really, really awesome.  My highlight was doing the visual mihimihi with all the cool colours.  It looks a lot like me!                                                                                                         By Maria-Clara Gontijo
 
 
 
 
 
Term 2 Science 
We did some great experiments during the term, looking at all the different types of ENERGY

Is it a liquid or a solid? Kinetic or Potential? Gloop was lots of fun

 We made electric circuits

And we blew the biggest bubbles. Amazing this kinetic/chemical stuff
   
We got some great hair dos with the static electricity
 
I guess we will become the next Einstiens :)

Term 3

The thing I liked the most this term was studying our Celebrations.  That was soooo fun.  I'm amazed at how much research I did.  I also loved writing about dinosaurs.  The last highlight was our bird sunny!  He's lovely and also a little funny.  Now he can whistle.  By Robbie Anderson

My highlight for term 3 was Celebrations.  The one that was my favourite was the Venice Carnivale because I know lots about it now. I enjoyed making the masks. By Kai Boulecane

I liked term 3 because we learned about the Venice Carnivale.  We found out a lot of information.  We have a budgie in our class called Sunny.  He is yellow and green and a very fast at flying.                                                                                  By Leigh Cameron

Term 3 was the best best term.  My main highlight was draft writing especially writing about dragons.  It was fun using our imagination.  My dragon's name was Cookie because he loves cookies.                                          By Georgia Davies

This term was really cool.  We have a bird called Sunny.  Sunny is so so cool. He's cheeky and smart.  He can fly fast and long.  I love him.  He chirps and eats a lot of seeds from the grass. I loved character writing.  My favourite one was about my mum.                  By Hanna Taylor

Term 4

A highlight for me has been making bird houses.  I really liked painting them.  I have learned more about money.  I also enjoyed making 3d shapes for the bird house.  The sanding was fun.  My friends are Jessica and Emily.  I had a really fun year!                                  By Cushla Holme

                                                

A highlight for me was being a bunny.  It was lots of fun!  I am better at reading because I am doing super heroes reading so it helps me understand books much easier.  I have learnt about birds and bird houses.  My friend this year is Emily.  She is very caring and kind.  By Esme Law

 

My highlight was going to Te Papa and making frames for pictures.  I am better at fractions and basic facts.  My friends were Alicia, Mahana and Courtney.  I thought it was a fantastic year.  I am really looking forward to making new friends in Year 5!                                        By Nafiza Ali

A highlight for me was making my bird house.  I am better at reading because I have moved to a higher group and I feel really proud.  I have learnt about fractions and native birds.  My friends this year were Nafiza, Sam and Mahana.
