Welcome to the 2009 Paremata School Yearbook.
2009 is a special year for me. I started working at Paremata School in 2001. That means that if I was a child I would be in my last year of school here, a Year 8.
I remember when the current Year 8 students arrived as five year olds. It doesn't seem that long ago. I've been reflecting on whether 2009 is a better year to be at school than in 2001? Every year I look at how hard the teachers work to provide opportunities for our students. To support them with their learning and help our students develop a sense of responsibility and self worth. Teachers appear to be doing more and more to make this happen. So remember to thank them once in a while for what they do.
For me I'll remember 2009 for having a stunning group of Year 8 leaders, fantastic school camps and senior productions, the range of celebrations of learning across the school, the very supportive PTA and their fundraising events and the great people I work with and learn with every day. I hope you too can look back at your time at Paremata School in 2009 with many positive memories.
