Paremata School

Parents/caregivers - there are many ways you can help

Shifts on the day are only 2 1/2 hours long, if you have any questions please contact the gala  on paremataschoolpta@gmail.com for more details. Ideally we need a total of 130-140 people to run a complete day's gala.  See available positions here: http://www.paremata.school.nz/3631/forms/6-helper-spots-available/

First Gala meeting is on Thursday 2 August @ 7.30pm in the staffroom.

Helping on a stall on the day

There are 2 shifts (allowing for change over) on
each stall.

Shift one 10.45am - 1.00pm
Shift two 12.45pm - 3.15pm

Along with our appreciation, you'll also get an invite to the after-gala party, which takes place after clean-up is finished.

GALA SPONSORSHIP
Do you have a business that could offer a service? Do you sell products that you might like to donate? Talk to Diane Hannay towards our Silent Auctions or Live ‘Spin the Wheel’ Raffles on the day.
Maybe you would like to sponsor a stall OR to cover the costs of a bouncy castle. Possibly cover the costs of bacon or drinks at the BBQ?  Display your companies sign right alongside the event for the whole day.  Reducing our up-front costs allows the biggest amount of profit for the school. Contact: Diane on email: dianeh7@xtra.co.nzFull details on sponsorship here: www.paremata.school.nz/3631/forms/5-gala-sponsorship-2018/submissions/new

Donated goods - we are looking for in term 3 are:

  • Toys: adults and children's toys in good used condition
  • Books: both adults and children's in good used condition, plus magazines & dvd's
  • Clothes: both adults and Children's clothes and shoes
  • Plants: maybe you'll be taking some clippings. We can provide potting mix or seeds
  • Crafts: homemade pre-made items
  • Lucky Dip: small gift items suitable for boys and girls
  • Preserves: of any kind, a very popular selling item, but we never get enough
  • Cakes and sweets/fudges: if you're a baker, these always sell really well
  • Eco Bags: let's reduce the amount of plastic and use material bags to take home items
  • Desserts: for the Food Hall
  • Bric-A-Brac: Deliver only in Term 4 straight to hall (to be confirmed)
  • Mystery Bottles: donations of wine, shampoo and sauces, soaps 300 ml or larger
  • Silent auction and quick-fire raffle: donated goods/services for these two stalls.
  • Check out the sponsorship page for the promotion that's available to your small business

Crafty Request
Do you have off cuts of material you could donate to the school?  Be it cotton, felt, ribbon or other.  We are looking to make craft items for our gala earlier in the year – rather than rushing things late in term3 for our Sat 27Oct Gala.  Items can be dropped to the school office in term 2.
*Would you like to join a team of crafters & prepare some items at home in your own time?
*Are you a crafty person yourself and have some items to donate?
*Are you handy with wood or concrete and like creating items that way?
Please get in touch with Karen Knapp kknapp@hotmail.co.nz   Thanks the Gala Committee.
