Having worked motivating adults for years, I decided to work with children when my son Ben helped me re-discover the wonderment and awe with which young people approach life. This is the 9th year I have worked with Year 7 and 8 students and they still manage to make me smile everyday.

This is my eighth year teaching after studying at Dunedin College of Education, and I have spent those years teaching Year 7 and 8 students. I enjoy all aspects of teaching especially getting out there with my kids...although don't be surprised if it takes you a while to spot me amoungst them! As always I am looking forward to another great year as part of the Paremata team.
Teacher
B.Sc. Honours Degree in Pure & Applied Ecology and Post Graduate Certificate in Education, from The University of Sheffield, England.
This is my sixth year at Paremata School, and once again I am lucky enough to be working in a class filled with exciting, creative, energetic, fun-loving children. I find that children learn best when their teacher is full of chocolate cake, just thought I'd mention that.

Before coming to Paremata in 2004 I had been teaching at Intermediates for the first 10yrs of my teaching Career. With one child behind my belt, I joined the staff of Paremata School as a 4th part time teacher for the year 7 and 8 team. The following year I worked with the Year 3 and 4 team and soon had another child in my Belly. I became a mum only, solely for a year, after my daughter was born but returned in 2007 to Paremata becoming one of the CRT release for classrooms across the school. I experienced and developed much interest, in the middle and junior areas of the school.Part time work suited me well with my two young children. I then moved into full time teaching at Paremata School shortly after my son began his first year here. Although I have enjoyed my years in junior school I couldn't resist the opportunity to work with stunningly magic year 7 and 8's this year, 2011.
