I've taught at Paremata since 2004, with three years in the UK from 2005 - 2007 thanks to a posting to New Zealand House. I am the breadwinner of the family as my husband has retired after 30-plus years with the Defence Force, in uniform and as a civilian. I have two adult children, Hamish, a paramedic with Wellington Free and Elspeth, a police officer currently working with the Police Support Unit. Our household is ruled by Bella, our ginger cat!
Year 5/6 Teacher 2/3 days per week
Postgraduate Diploma of Teaching (Primary), Victoria University. Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Leeds University (UK).
I’m delighted to be continuing to teach in the Kauri Syndicate this year. I will be working every Wednesday in Rūma Takahē and will also be working across the Kauri syndicate to provide release days to the year 5/6 teachers. I have worked at Te Kura o Paremata since 2017. I feel incredibly lucky to be teaching in a kura with such a wonderful positive culture, amazing students and super talented, fun and collaborative staff.
I live in Raumati Beach with my husband, Leon, and my lovely sons, Finley and Oscar, who are 14 and 16. We enjoy sports and the outdoors and especially walking our Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, Scout, on the beach.

Talofa Lava!
I first came to Paremata School as a student teacher in 2009 and spent my time here with the students of Room 10 and Caroline Lockyer.
In 2012 I was offered an opportunity to have my own class and my own students - which I jumped to take.
I thoroughly enjoy being a member of the Paremata aiga (family), and consider myself blessed to be here.
