What is the Moon? The moon is a natural satellite of the earth and it reflects light from the sun onto earth. The moon is a grey dull lifeless ball of rock which orbits the earth. The moon is a quarter of the size of earth and is 384,400 km away from earth. Scientists believe that 4.5billon years ago a huge rock went flying down to earth and ‘’Crashed’’ bits of the rock off the earth they broke off and joined up together and made the moon. In 1969 Neil Armstrong an American person was the first person to walk on the moon. He said on the moon “This is a small step for a man but a big step for mankind’’. By Sean Block
